“You'll never be alone if you’ve got a book.”

~ Al Pacino

This year saw unpresedented situation due to 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India. Days and nights were marred by anxiety, sadness, and desperation. During such times books are excellent companions to keep the sanity of mind.

I loved reading following books during this year and I must admit that these books helped me complete my own book “Anybody Can Run”.

1. A Man Called Ove: Main character of the book Ove is a grumpy old man who wants to die. But what a way to describe grumpiness of a person? A MUST READ. It seems that Tom Hanks is coming up with a movie based on this book.

2. One Up on Wall Street: If you are serious about investing, you MUST READ it. A fantastic book which can be easily understood by people even new to investing. It’s written by Peter Lynch, one of the most successful and well-known investors of all time.

3. Psychology of Money: “There is no free lunch. No one should only look for profit without paying a cost.”

4. Heads I win Tails I win: Learn interesting ideas on investing in stocks and mutual funds. A good read.

5. Train to Pakistan: Even in most trying times and dark hours, someone always rises up to the occasion. A MUST READ.

6. The Call of the Man Eater: There is beauty in jungle and Kenneth Anderson describes it lucidly. The unnerving silence before the arrival of tiger to the painful task of walking on the trails of a wounded man eater, the choice of words by the author leaves me spell bound even if I have already read this book 4 times.

7. Talkative Man: Lovely narration by one of the best writers of India, R K Narayan.

8. Man-eaters of Kumaon: Wonderful book about Indian jungles and wildlife by non-other than Jim Corbett.

9. The Midnight Library: A book about infinite possibilities that life offers.

10. The Secret: An inspiring self-help book to fulfill your dreams.

11. A Man Called Khushwant Singh: Get to know different aspects about one of the most loved writers of our times.

12. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck: This book will definitely impact you for rest of the life.

What books have you read this year? Which book you loved the most? How that book helped you in life?
